24th Natyamela

The West Bengal Government has organized its annual Natyamela of Bengali theatre from February 5 till February 13, with free admission for everyone. Every afternoon and evening, 80 groups from all over the state will stage their productions at the state-run auditoriums in Kolkata: Rabindra Sadan, Girish Mancha, Madhusudan Mancha, Sisir Mancha, Tripti Mitra Natyagriha and Ektara Muktamancha. Performances include folk performances, puppet theatre, mime and intimate theatre, besides regular proscenium theatre (full-length at the first three venues, one-act at the others).
