Chinmaya Mission Study Group’s Krishnei’s Krishna, at Birla Sabhagar

Original play by Bharti Haralalka, directed by Sahir Siddiqui. Set in Kurukshetra, it narrates Draupadi’s turmoil inside after the war outside is over. She deals primarily with emotions of anger, regret, guilt and contempt, which get aggravated as she is confronted by four women: Bhanumati (Duryodhan’s wife), Krushali (Karna’s wife), Subhadra (Abhimanyu’s mother) and Kunti herself, who have directly or indirectly played a pivotal role in the unfolding of the war. They pose uncomfortable questions and compel us to find solutions in modern times too. Steadfast in her principles, Draupadi meets her sakha and saviour Krishna and finally discovers peace within.
