TAJ MAHAL KA UDGHATAN, AT PADATIK

In the 21^st century, Aurangzeb still rules but faces multiple problems as he attempts to complete his father Shah Jahan’s dream project–the Taj Mahal. Dara Shukoh leads a people’s movement against him. As his Chief Engineer Gupta-ji continues bumbling efforts to complete construction of the monument, the Supreme Court threatens the Badshah’s reign, forcing Aurangzeb to fight an election while dealing with red-tapeism, political rivals, the bureaucracy and his Begums. This play, in its crazy mix of eras, personalities and jumpy humour, is the perfect re-entry to live theatre after two years of doom and gloom hibernation.
